What is ITCCCA?
ITCCCA stands for Illinois Track & Cross Country Coaches Association
ITCCCA's mission is to:

  1. Promote interest, enthusiasm, and the improvement of track and cross country.
  2. Provide educational opportunities for coaches through clinics.
  3. Promote, publicize and recognize achievement of athletes and coaches through all state awards and all star teams.
  4. Represent the track & cross country coaches and athletes concerns to the IHSA.
  5. To work with the IHSA to enhance the sports of track and cross-country in the state.
How does ITCCCA promote our sport?

ITCCCA promotes our sport through a number of different ways:

  1. Two major clinics are held every year.
    1. The 2nd Saturday in January at Oak Park River Forest H.S. is the northern clinic.
    2. The 3rd Saturday in January at Milikin University is the southern clinic.
  2. There are a number of smaller meetings held throughout the year, watch the web sites for their time and location.
  3. We have two web sites that you can look at for various information about our association and our sport:
    1. www.itccca.org (northern Illinois)
    2. www.itccca-south.com (southern Illinois)
  4. ITCCCA mails out an electronic newsletter, “ITCCCA TIDBITS”, that informs coaches around the state of the most recent happenings in our sport.
  5. “ITCCCA TIDBITS” is mailed out near the beginning of each school year to notify coaches of the coming happenings for the year.
  6. As a member, you have a $10,000 insurance policy through the Illinois Coaches Association.

How does ITCCCA recognize the achievement of athletes and coaches?

ITCCCA recognizes many individuals involved in track and cross country around the state through a number of different ways:

  1. The ITCCCA Hall of Fame recognizes coaches around the state who have given outstanding service, have a great commitment, and made outstanding achievement in the sports of track and cross country.
  2. Outstanding track and cross country officials are recognized for their service. With the “Officials Award”
  3. ITCCCA awards “All State Cross Country” honors for both male and female athletes.
  4. ITCCCA awards “All State Track & Field” honors for both male and female athletes.
  5. The “ITCCCA Recognition Award” is given to individuals who have made great contributions to the sports of track and cross country but who are not eligible for the Hall of Fame.
  6. ITCCCA awards scholarships to athletes who apply from around the state.
  7. ITCCCA awards “Coach of the Year Honors” to both track and cross country coaches for both guys and girls from class A and AA.
  8. ITCCCA awards the “Dave Pasquini Award” to outstanding assistant coaches from around the state.

How does ITCCCA work with the IHSA on behalf of coaches and athletes?

  1. ITCCCA has eight regional representatives, four from the north and four from the south, who are responsible for collecting input from different coaches, officials and athletes in their region. In June they meet with an IHSA representative to express the opinions of their region.
  2. ITCCCA has an advisor that along with the president is a non voting paticipant on the track and cross country advisory board.
  3. ITCCCA needs your input. Without your input the there are no ideas to present to the IHSA
